After over a year of input surveys, community outreach booths, meetings, free bicycle safety classes, and more, the City of Montebello's first Active Transportation Plan is now in final draft form! The plan proposes areas strategies and improvements to make the City safer and easier for people of all ages to get around on foot, bike, skate, and other forms of healthy, active transportation. Maps of proposed improvements for rolling modes (e.g., bikes, scooters, skateboards) and pedestrians can be seen above and below. The Montebello Chapter of the larger, 5-city regional plan, which includes specific details for the below-numbered pedestrian improvements, can be viewed at the bottom of this post. On Wednesday, April 10, 2019, the Montebello City Council will receive a formal presentation about the plan at their regular meeting (5:30pm start time). Members of the public are welcome to provide feedback or submit comments regarding the plan in person at the meeting or via email. Emailed comments or feedback may be submitted to the City Council via the City Clerk here: lguzman@cityofmontebello.com ibarajas@cityofmontebello.com If you have any questions about the draft plan, the 3/13 Council Meeting, or how to provide feedback, please contact Wes Reutimann.
